How We Use Text Messages
Sound Computers sends SMS messages only for transactional customer-care purposes, including:
- Appointment reminders — reminders for scheduled on-site visits, drop-offs, or remote support sessions.
- Ticket completion notifications — alerts when a repair or service ticket is finished and ready for pickup or review.
- Two-way service replies — responses to customer questions related to an active appointment or service ticket when the customer has initiated contact by text or opted in to receive messages.
We do not send unsolicited marketing or promotional text blasts through this program.
How Customers Opt In
Customers must provide express consent before Sound Computers sends SMS messages. We collect opt-in through:
- Service intake forms — when a customer schedules service online, by email, or in person, they may provide a mobile number and check a box agreeing to receive appointment and service-status text messages.
- Verbal consent — when scheduling by phone or in the shop, staff ask whether the customer would like text reminders and status updates, document consent in our service system, and record the mobile number provided.
- Written consent — signed service authorization or repair intake forms that include SMS consent language.
- Inbound text initiation — if a customer texts our business number first regarding service, they may receive replies related to that request.
We do not purchase, rent, or use third-party contact lists for SMS opt-in.
